Vision is one of the major five senses of man and represents an essential part of the quality of life for each individual.
The services offered are:

The Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation Department caters services for both in and out patients, as the following:
• In-patients (Therapists cover the hospital wards: Critical Care Unit (ICU), Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CICU), Medical, Paediatrics, Obstetric & Gynaecology, Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT), VIP, Day Care Unit, Psychiatry, Coronary Care Unit (CCU), Neo-natal Unit, Surgical and Cardiac on daily basis).
• Out–patients (Therapists cover the following areas: General, Sports, Occupational Therapy, Gynaecology, Speech Therapy, Paediatrics and Neurology Rehabilitation).
•Academic teaching and clinical research :
As the Sultan Qaboos University Hospital (SQUH) is a teaching institution, the department pays a lot of attention on these aspects. Therapists have teaching and education responsibilities in the hospital, which includes teaching 5th year Medical Students, Medical Orderlies, Nursing staff and Physiotherapy Students from the Institute of Health Sciences. Staff are also involved in giving in-service lectures as a continuing education on a weekly basis in the department.
The department publishes the “Scientific Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Newsletter” twice a year, which was started in 2003. It runs various specialized courses per year and holds international conferences. We also hold a yearly exhibition "Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Day" in the hospital that aims at awareness and education of the professional staff and the public about our services in the hospital and the community
