MISSION

The mission of haematology department is to offer the state of art of clinical and laboratory services for the people of Oman, as well as advancing research and education in the field of haematology.

VISION

To complement the national health care program by providing state of the art diagnostic  and therapeutic services for all haematological diseases as well as promoting  preventive services for hereditary  haematological disorders.

OBJECTIVES

  • To provide state-of-the-art diagnostic facilities for haemoglobinopathies, haemostatic disorders, malignant and non-malignant haematological disorders.
  • To create centers of excellence for comprehensive care of thalassaemia and sickle cell disorders.
  • To provide a comprehensive care facility for treatment of haematological malignancies.
  • To provide a cost-effective bone marrow transplant facility of international standards.
  • To impart academic and scientific knowledge by regular continuous medical education programmes of students and faculty in health sciences and allied specialties.
  • To promote clinical and basic science research in haematological disorders in order to enhance the understanding of haematological disorders prevalent in Oman.
  • To complement the various national health care programs organized by ministry of health.
